Suffering - source of the greatest realizations
The true creators, those who have done great things in their fields, have for the most part been people who suffered a great deal. Their suffering was for them something like black ink into which they dipped their pen each day in order to extract from it an extraordinary work of intelligence, beauty and strength. The dramatic experiences and inner upheavals they lived – the entire gamut of thoughts, feelings, sensations and emotions – were the colours they used to realize their masterpieces or sublime acts. Everyone around them benefited from these masterpieces and these acts, and we do so still today.
