Simplicity - or the path to the summit

Simplicity can be defined as the constant effort to direct one’s thoughts to the summit. For, it is at the summit that the spirit, the 1, reigns. When we are far from the summit, we do not have a clear view of things, we have no control over situations and everything becomes complicated. It is our lower nature that creates these complications. In its aim to satisfy its desires, it pushes people to scatter their energies and be superficial. They might find what they are seeking, for a short while, but by dispersing their energies in matter, in order to accumulate possessions and increase their pleasures, they limit themselves inwardly. In Dante’s Divine Comedy, he describes hell as an upside-down cone, and this image corresponds to reality. The more that humans behave in such a way as to distance themselves from the 1 – symbolically, the top of an upright cone – the more they are doomed to descend into the depths of the upside-down cone and suffer all its limitations. Only those who try to become simpler by climbing to the top will sense a growing inner potential to move, create and express themselves freely.
