Light - understanding it and loving it are not enough

If you explain to humans what goodness is, they are perfectly capable of understanding. But it is not enough to explain, to enlighten their minds. You have to touch other aspects of their being, for if their emotions and desires drive them in a different direction, that is where they will go. And even for those of you who love the light, who long for the light, the hardest part is still to come. For you must make your psychic matter submit to the light. One moment it is docile and allows itself to be moulded. Then suddenly it resists, rebels and gains the upper hand, and you have to start all over again. But you should not be discouraged, for gradually this psychic matter will give way. Once there is understanding and love, realization will eventually follow. In any case, what is certain is that without understanding and love it is useless to hope for the slightest transformation.
