Initiates - their first test is taking on a physical body

Initiates are made just like everyone else: they have the same organs and therefore feel the same needs, the same desires. They too can become tired or ill. The difference lies elsewhere, in their consciousness, in their ideal, in their outlook, in the self-control they have been able to acquire. And their first test is coming into a physical body. In order to form their body, every being that comes to incarnate on earth has no choice but to receive particles that have lost a great deal of their resistance, vitality and purity. You have to understand what this matter is like. It has come down through the centuries from one generation to the next. How could it arrive whole and pure? Even if initiates are born to exceptional parents, they have quite a task to carry out on the substance of their body, in order to purify it, give it life and make it harmonious, so that it becomes a perfect instrument for their spirit.
