Higher self - should always inspire our conduct

You must not ask yourself whether you can trust others and then, according to your optimistic or pessimistic temperament, answer with a yes or no. The correct response to this question has nothing to do with temperament. You can trust someone when your higher Self succeeds in contacting his higher Self. You will say: ‘But but what if I’m unable to contact his higher Self, or if his lower self responds by doing me harm?’ You will be disappointed, of course. But this disappointment will not seriously affect you, because your divine Self is insensitive to this kind of injury, and most importantly, because the good as well as the evil we do to others we do to ourselves as well. This means that the good you intended to do remains in and around you: it is armour which protects you.
