Good and evil - one force that pushes you and another that watches you

Whatever you do, remember that there is always one force that pushes you forward and another that watches you and calculates its next move. When you do something good, it is because you are urged on by forces of good, but evil is watching you, waiting for the right moment to manifest itself too. And especially if you want to go further than is necessary, be aware that evil will gnaw away at the excess, and will sometimes even swallow up the lot. That is why you should not overstep the mark, even when it comes to doing good, otherwise you trigger adverse forces. Why do people sometimes say ‘leave well enough alone’? Because if you overdo goodness, you provoke evil. But take heart, because when you do wrong, goodness is also watching and looking for a way to save you. If you are honest and sincere, even the mistakes you make will one day count as experiences that have contributed to your spiritual enrichment.*
