God - serving him in our neighbour

Serving God does not mean neglecting our fellow human beings; on the contrary, true disciples strive to serve God in others. It is God they love in human beings. Even if they reap only ingratitude, they trust that God will not abandon them. They know this, because they have already experienced it several times in past existences. They feel like birds whose wings have become stronger and are at last ready to fly. Those who have decided to serve God in their neighbour show they are able to take flight. They have settled their personal, family and social problems and moved beyond them. Their thinking is free to go further and higher. They feel they are members of the universal family, and by working for this family their soul expands in space and finds its nourishment.
