Fasting purifies the body and purity is the foundation of health. When a person regularly eats their fill, the cells of their stomach and other organs get into the habit of relying on their master, and knowing that he will always satisfy them, they become lazy. As there is such an abundance of food, some of it cannot be assimilated, so it stagnates in the tissues of the body where it begins to ferment. When you fast, on the other hand, your cells receive very little food so they decide to be more economical, wiser and more active in order to cope. Then nothing is left to ferment in the body. People who never fast are exposing themselves to grave danger in the future because their cells become passive, lazy and weak. Obviously, a prolonged fast weakens one’s organism, but if you know how long to fast, under what conditions and with what attitude, it can be of immense benefit to your health.
