Devil - without true initiatic knowledge you end up with nonsense

So many theologians have depicted the devil as God’s unconquerable enemy. They therefore considered that God is not the all-powerful Master governing the universe: since some entity is able to defy Him, that entity must be as powerful as He, or even more powerful. You will say they never thought such a thing... But they did, and here is the proof: in Christendom, throughout the Middle Ages and well beyond, whenever men or women displayed exceptional gifts, they were accused of having received them from the devil, of having made a pact with him. Unfortunately, the Church itself contributed to the spread of this belief. Yes, the Church is responsible for the position the devil has held in Christianity. If someone prophesied, healed the sick or received divine inspiration, it had to be the work of the devil—certainly not that of heaven. So it is hardly surprising that some people really did seek to make a pact with the devil. What would be the use of serving some incompetent God, they thought, since all knowledge and gifts were provided by His enemy, the devil? Their reasoning was sound, in a way. Indeed, that is the kind of nonsense you get without the true initiatic knowledge of good and evil.
