Bodies, from the physical to the atmic - the whole human being

The only true philosophy for human beings is one that takes their whole being into account. Why mutilate them? Humans should be robust, flexible and resilient on the physical plane; on the astral plane, their heart should be full of love and kindness; on the mental plane, they should have a bright, incisive mind to understand the laws of the universe and of life. But that is not all. Schools and universities may set their students the ideal of becoming lettered, learned and specialists in this or that subject, but Initiatic Science does not stop there. Its aim is to take humans higher still, so that they develop faculties beyond those of the mental body: that is to say, the faculties of the causal body (the higher mind), the buddhic body (the higher heart) and the atmic body (the higher will).* These higher faculties are the ones that will give us wisdom, love and power; in other words, bring us fulfilment.
