Astral body - parable of the rich man and the camel

Jesus said: ‘It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the Kingdom of God.’ At first sight, these words seem ridiculous, but in fact they contain profound meaning. What is the characteristic of a wealthy person? It is an astral body, the body of desire, so bloated and distended through greed that it becomes like an immense tumour, and that tumour prevents them from passing through the gate of the Kingdom of God. Whereas the astral body of a camel is very small (symbolically, it can pass through the eye of a needle), because the camel is sober and makes do with very little. This enables it to cross the desert; in conditions where everyone else succumbs, the camel holds out and continues on its journey. People’s inordinate desires create tumours in their astral body, which prevent them from passing through the gates of Initiation. So, disciples must watch over all their wishes and desires; otherwise the gates of the Kingdom of God will remain closed to them.
