Will - must sustain faith

A faith which is not expressed through a suitable attitude and appropriate gestures is almost useless, and even harmful, because it keeps us in illusion. Faith has true grounds for existence only when it is upheld by the will to bring one’s actions into harmony with it. A doctor prescribes a treatment for you, and because he prescribes it, you believe in its effectiveness. But if you are negligent and forget to take the medicine, you remain ill. Whereas if you take the medicine, it acts two, three, or ten times more effectively because of your conviction. Faith cannot accomplish everything, but it creates possibilities and clears the path so we can pass. Whereas if we lack the willpower or the energy to go forward, we will simply remain where we are, standing before the open path.
