Wild animals - strive to tame the wild beasts within you
Regardless of who they are and how they behave, it is important to know that the two principles of good and evil coexist in every human being. The evil may be chloroformed or locked up in a cage like the wild animals in a zoo. Yes, our tigers, bears and cobras may be under lock and key, but the fact remains that they are still there within each of us.* The proof of this is that, given the right conditions, the sweetest young girl or the most wonderful boy can turn into a demon. You may say, ‘How is this possible? It’s unbelievable. We didn’t expect this…’ Well, that is the point: you should have expected it. All the wild beasts are there within us, but they may not yet have had the opportunity to show themselves, and once they do, we are stunned. In order to guard against such incidents, each of you must remain extremely vigilant, and while striving to tame your inner beasts, you must also avoid certain dangerous situations. Otherwise you, like so many before you, will be horrified by the things you say or do, and will keep repeating, ‘How could I have done such a thing?’
