Spiritual work - strive to create a divine image of yourself

Disciples who want to advance spiritually must strive every day to create a divine image of themselves. Of course, they should not think that they are already divinities, nor must they want others to consider them as such, for that would only draw people’s derision or hostility. They will say, ‘Who does he think he is? He’s going mad!’ and they would not be altogether wrong. So, whatever inner work you undertake, you must continue to behave with unassuming simplicity towards others. Imagine that you are wise, luminous and radiant, that you are fulfilling God’s will and that you have recovered the perfection you had long ago in the innocence and splendour of paradise – the perfection that will again be yours in the future. But remember that it has not yet happened!
