Spiritual work - our inner achievements are invisible

The things you achieve on the physical plane are there for all to see and touch, whereas nobody can see your spiritual achievements – not even you. The lack of tangible proof of your work may lead you to doubt and make you want to abandon your spiritual practices and devote yourself solely to activities that can offer you some visible results. Do as you wish but, one day, even in the midst of great success, you will sense that something vital is missing inside. This is only to be expected, for you have still not touched on what is essential, you have not yet sown anything in the realm of light, wisdom, love or eternity. Only your inner, spiritual achievements can give you a sense of fulfilment, for only they put down roots within you. And when you leave this earth, you will take with you, in your heart and soul and spirit, the precious stones – that is, the qualities and virtues – that you have worked to develop, and your name will be inscribed in the book of eternal life.*
