Spiritual maturity - in order to reach it we also need parents

Every human being who has achieved a certain psychological maturity and is capable of looking after his material needs can and in fact must gradually free himself from the tutelage of his parents in order to lead an autonomous life. But to gain spiritual maturity is not as easy and requires much more time. The person who wishes to develop spiritually also has a need for parents: he must have confidence in all the beings who have preceded him on the path of light. These beings have bequeathed him a vast knowledge which is the fruit of age-old experiences, and now it is up to him to receive their advice and imitate them. That is why Jesus said: ‘Unless you become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven'.
