Spiritual engagement - must not lead us to neglect others

Those who decide to follow a spiritual teaching, sensing that it is their path, have to change many things in their thinking and way of life. It is not always easy for them, and especially since they are not alone: they have family, friends, neighbours and colleagues who may not accept this change, since it may disrupt their routines as well. So what are we to do? When you find yourself in such a situation, which sooner or later you will not be able to avoid, do not cause others unnecessary suffering, and above all do not abandon them. See to it that this new life which you find so good for you is also good for them.
