Soul, the - a physical body can be possessed but not the soul

People who are in love use every means in their power to monopolize and keep the one they love, even to the point of tormenting them and using violence to impose their will on them. But what can anyone actually keep with such methods? How can you prevent others from getting to know your beloved? The opportunities to meet and talk to other people are endless, and if you are not reasonable and understanding, you will suffer. You are like someone who has a park full of flowers – you cannot contain their fragrance or stop people from breathing it in. In fact, what you are guarding so jealously is only the body of your beloved, their envelope, their outer shell. And the same is true for those you dislike and want to bring down – what can you actually take hold of? The essence of a human being, that is to say, their thoughts and feelings, cannot be shut up and locked away. All around us, we see people making the most ridiculous efforts to grab hold of human souls, but the soul cannot be seized. A physical body can be possessed for a time, but not the mysterious being who dwells within it.
