Roses - emanations from the planet Venus

Find a flowering rosebush, and gaze at it in the knowledge that you are in the presence of living creatures that have come down from the planet Venus. You may wonder how roses could have come from the planet Venus, given that the atmospheric conditions there make any life impossible. This is true, but for Initiatic Science the planets are not simply the physical, material bodies studied by astronomy. For Initiatic Science the planets are pathways, intermediaries between cosmic currents and the earth. Through the agency of the planets, the earth receives currents and influences that originate from God himself. From time immemorial, therefore, initiates have associated the planets with qualities, virtues – the Moon with purity, Mercury with intelligence, Jupiter with generosity, and so on. So the planets serve as reservoirs for currents moving through space on their way to the earth to condense in whichever receptacle corresponds to their nature. Roses are receptacles for currents coming from Venus, currents of love. When we approach them, we receive this love.
