Responsibilities - prepare the very young to assume them

When you are young, it is natural to have ambitions, to make plans, to aspire to happiness. But be careful, you must also be vigilant where this is concerned. Life is a very serious venture, and young people must know that in order to confront the problems life will inevitably pose for them, they must work to develop moral qualities and to nurture a high ideal, so that they can best assume their responsibilities later on. Someone who believes he can escape his obligations and thereby lead an easier, more pleasant existence knows nothing of the strict laws governing destiny. Instead of the easy life he seeks, he will find even greater difficulties and will need to redouble his efforts to overcome them. In contrast, someone who accepts his difficulties, who prepares to confront them and never gives up his ideal, grows stronger and blossoms. He feels the light gradually awakening within him, along with forces he could never have imagined.
