Poverty, inner - of those who do not respect others

When you have to give your opinion of someone, you must do so with respect and delicacy so as not to damage them or harm their soul. For a soul is a rich, profound entity created by God with immense wisdom, and when you show it no consideration you are behaving like a criminal. All those who imagine they can continually point a finger with impunity at other people’s weaknesses and mistakes, in order to ridicule them, only reveal their own inner poverty. How are they not able to see the negative effects this attitude has on the rest of their behaviour, even on their understanding of existence itself? They cut themselves off from the harmonious currents of life, and little by little the whole of nature becomes closed to them.
