Pleasure - is fleeting and expensive

How can we resist the temptations of pleasure? Pleasure is not a reliable guide, and when we allow ourselves to be governed by it, the results are most often unpleasant. Feasting in a restaurant is pleasurable, but after you have eaten, you must pay, which is not so pleasant. And it is the same in life: in one way or another, everything has its price. On the astral and mental planes as well as the physical plane, there are markets, stores and shop windows where everything is displayed so you can help yourself. But once you have done so, you must pay. And it is precisely on this question of cost that you must reflect. Show prudence and say to yourself: ‘This isn’t worth it. It will be too expensive, and the pleasure is fleeting. Soon there won’t be a trace of it, and it will take me years to pay my debts.’
