Pessimism - is never wisdom

Pessimists often see themselves as great philosophers, great sages, and it is extraordinary how they also manage to persuade others of this. In reality they are very ambitious people who wish for impossible things and, being unable to achieve them, become dejected and disillusioned with humankind. From this state they draw a disenchanted notion of life and humanity, which they then expound wherever they go, imagining they display great depth and clear-mindedness. Not at all; in fact, it is the opposite: their perception is completely clouded by their dark moods. It is all right to feel sad, but only on account of the difficulties or misfortunes of others, not because of our unfulfilled wishes and ambitions. Anyone who frequently succumbs to such feelings is not very evolved, as their pessimism is generally caused by the eternal dissatisfaction of their lower nature. And if they don’t make an effort to overcome it, they will never know the true life.
