Other people’s situation - always try to understand it

Humans are not naturally inclined to put themselves in someone else's place, and this is the cause of a great many errors of judgment and acts of cruelty and unfairness. When you are about to give your opinion about someone, what do you know of the situation they find themselves in? So, before you criticize or accuse them, take the trouble, at least for a few minutes, to put yourself in their place; then you may realize that if you were in their shoes you would behave ten times worse. It is worth trying to put yourself in the place of people you find unpleasant and are always ready to condemn. Just a few minutes every day doing this exercise will allow you to acquire qualities of patience, tolerance, gentleness and generosity, which will benefit you as well as them.
