Kingdom of God - a great number of people must want it

As soon as a new need manifests itself in society, there is always someone who is ready to satisfy that need by giving people what they ask for. The evolution of humankind is thus determined by its needs. Necessity is the mother of invention, they say, and this is true in all spheres of life. This same law applies on the artistic and spiritual planes. If so few artists create sublime works of art today, it is because there are too few people who are capable of appreciating them. This is only natural – the desires and needs of the few are insufficient to influence creation. And if the kingdom of God has not yet been established on earth, it is because not many people feel the need for it. If great numbers demanded peace and prosperity for the whole world, their demand would be granted.*
