Jesus - ‘The kingdom of God is at hand’: three statements

Jesus said, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand.’* Many people will point out that two thousand years have gone by since he said this, and the kingdom of God still seems to be a long way off. There are so many wars, so much famine, poverty and misery in the world! We must interpret Jesus’ words and understand what he meant when he said that the kingdom of God was near. For some, it has already come; yes, it is already within the hearts and souls of those who were ready to receive it, who were able to accept and apply his teaching of love. For others, it is close, it is coming. And for a third category, it will come, but we cannot tell when. So the kingdom of God has come, is coming and will come – all three statements are true.
