Intellect, the - places humans at the boundary between the world below and the world above

Animals undeniably have some form of intelligence. But what differentiates human beings from animals is that the former possess an intellect, with which they are able to observe, compare and judge and, in light of the facts, decide what direction to take. Human beings’ intellect places them at the boundary between the lower and higher worlds. With that in mind, they must understand they have a role of the utmost importance to play in the universe: they determine which doors open – those of heaven above or of hell below. Since having an intellect places humans at the boundary between the two worlds, their understanding has consequences not only for their own future but also for that of the earth. Just as the sun is the portal to divine forces in the solar system, so human beings can be portals to solar forces on earth. They, therefore, have a tremendous role to play.
