God - we only know him by merging with his immensity

Most religions have given God a human appearance, because they had to make the realities of the spiritual world accessible, and these realities go well beyond most believers’ abilities to comprehend them! Smallness cannot comprehend immensity, the limited cannot comprehend the limitless, and the finite cannot comprehend the infinite. When will the small, limited and finite ever understand? When it enters the immensity, when it merges with it, when it becomes part of that life. As long as a drop of water is separate from the ocean, it cannot know the ocean, even though its composition is identical. But if it returns to the ocean, it can no longer be separate from it; it becomes the ocean, and in becoming the ocean it knows the ocean. It is the same for human beings. They are finite and limited, but when they have worked a long time to purify themselves, they will awaken inner faculties and possibilities that are almost limitless – they will merge with the immensity, and they will know the eternal and infinite nature of God.
