Gestures - touch and move objects lovingly

Learn to move objects lovingly and you will feel that the harmony of your gestures is reflected within you. People seldom realize that the way they do things influences their inner state. But try to be aware of this, and the day you feel angry or agitated, tell yourself that this is the time to practise. Then take an object, give it a few light and gentle strokes – you will immediately feel that you are transforming something within you, that you are changing the currents. You must learn to change your states. When you are troubled or stressed, why should it last all day long? Stop and say, ‘Today, I feel as if I might tear myself apart, I must give a different rhythm to my gestures and my words’ and then do so – you have the methods.*
