Economizing - the lesson nature gives us

In order to understand about economizing, you have to listen to nature’s lessons. You will say, ‘But nature doesn’t give us lessons on economy! All those plants, all those animals, all those human beings endlessly being born and dying over billions of years – what a waste! What has been the use of all those lives?’ No use, of course, in the way you mean the word ‘use’. But all those lives are useful to the cosmic economy, and nature has never been burdened by the remains of billions upon billions of humans, animals or plants: they go back to the earth to give birth to other living beings. On the other hand, look at the difficulties encountered by modern societies in disposing of their refuse! They manufacture more and more materials that do not decompose naturally once they have been used and pollute the earth, the air, the water, and so on. You will say, ‘But plastic, batteries, petrol, nuclear energy, etc., mean great progress.’ Of course, I don’t deny it. But while this progress was being achieved, the risks it would bring with it should have been considered, so that ways could be found to neutralize them.
