Angelic orders - connections between humans and God

Between humans and God there are spiritual beings, which the Christian tradition, inspired by the Jewish tradition, refers to as the angelic orders. The word ‘order’ implies there is a difference in level between these beings. In descending order, their names are: seraphs, cherubim, thrones, dominations, powers, virtues, principalities, archangels and angels. The angels are closest to human beings and this is why they have been given the responsibility of watching over them. The seraphs and cherubim however are at the very top of the hierarchy and keep watch over the various galaxies; it is very rare that one of them comes to meet a human being. A seraph travels through space at the speed of lightning. If you happen to be in the right place, vigilant and ready to pick up some of its radiations, you will be dazzled and enlightened, and the effects will persist for the rest of your life. But you will never stop the seraph; they continue their journey through space.
