Advancing - like a team of mountain climbers roped together

We are all roped together like a team of mountain climbers, and each one of us must advance, keeping our eyes straight ahead. If someone calls out to the climber in front of them to say: ‘I love you, turn around and look at me’, they will be hindering the progress of the whole team. And if they themselves turn around, both those above and those below will be prevented from continuing their ascent. We have no business to stop to look at each other and make conversation: we must keep climbing without faltering towards the summit. But to be clear, this image should obviously be understood from a symbolic point of view.
