Romantic relationships - begin by loving God, then you can love others

Men and women rush blithely into romantic relationships without wanting to know anything about the power of emotional bonds, and then, when they have been badly burned, they say that love is woe. No, it is their ignorance about love that brings misfortune, not love itself. For love is God, and God is love—how could He bring on evil? The thing is, in order to live love harmoniously, we must begin by loving God and immersing ourselves in His vibrations. Only then is it safe to love others. Those who are connected to the Source can share their energies without weakening themselves, because their supply of water is constantly being renewed. But if they sever this link, others will quickly drain them dry because their reserves cannot last forever. When a lifeguard dives into the water to rescue someone who is drowning, he tells them to hold on to his feet, not to his arms otherwise they will both drown. You too should let other people hang on to your feet and keep your arms free for the Lord, for if you give all your love to humans, you will go under with them.*
