Land - to be worked: our head

Where will practising philosophy, science and art get you, if you are not well fed and alive to begin with? What matters above all else is feeding yourself and being alive. After that, you can practise any discipline, if you have the interest, time and ability. In the universities and colleges, students are given a great deal of knowledge, but they are not fed. That is why their legs are shaky, they have an empty heart and blurred vision. At the school of the great initiates, on the other hand, the students are well fed, and once they are strong and robust they are given a plough, shown how to work the land and put to work. You will say, 'What? Work the land? What land?' The kind we all possess: our head. Those who know how to plough and how to plant good seeds in their own land will eat their fill all their life. The others will see only thistles, thorns and brambles growing, which will be not only useless but harmful both to them and those around them.
