Exchanges - the very foundation of life; making them on the spiritual plane

When we step out of our home to go for a walk in the street, to look at the shops, take a stroll in a park or the countryside, we are following the instinct to make exchanges with other human beings and with nature, because these exchanges are absolutely necessary and indispensable to life. ‘But what about the ascetics and hermits who withdraw to the desert or caves, deliberately fleeing from the world’, you may ask, ‘do they no longer make exchanges?’ Yes, they still do, for if they have renounced some exchanges, it is in order to favour others, to open their soul and spirit to more subtle, spiritual influences. As soon as we close ourselves to one influence, we automatically open up to another. If you do not wish to see or hear on the physical plane, another inner form of vision and hearing will manifest, allowing you to receive new, subtler impressions. Exchanges are the very foundation of life, and those who learn how to make exchanges on the spiritual plane possess the true science of life.
