Concentration - through its power, uniting to ask for the kingdom of God

There is great power in concentration. The proof of this is that if you concentrate the sun’s rays through a magnifying glass—a tiny piece of glass—you can set things on fire. Long before physicists developed practical applications for the power of concentration, Initiates had already discovered it on the psychic plane and made it the foundation of their spiritual work. For thousands of years they have never ceased to teach that in order to advance on the path of light, we must gather together the scattered forces of our being and focus them on a single point. It is good to practise these exercises when we are alone; it is even more beneficial to do so when we are together. When we get together it is to produce results; otherwise it would be pointless, even ridiculous, to meet together. If we do nothing with the energies that a collectivity can emit, then we might as well stay at home. But when we unite in asking for the realization of the kingdom of God, we are like so many rays of sunlight focused on a single spot, and then we are even capable of melting rocks!*
