Love, Divine - an energy we can bring down into our body

In the Emerald Tablet we are told, ‘It rises up from earth and descends again from heaven and receives its power from above and below. It is the power of all powers.’ This power, which Hermes Trismegistus calls telesma, is love. This is the power initiates must tap into on high in the subtle state and bring back down into the depths of their being to feed their cells. Capturing the divine energy in an elevated state is not enough; they must also be able to bring it down and absorb it. This is the reason why they strive to purify themselves by getting rid of all feelings and thoughts that do not resonate with this cosmic power. When initiates succeed in freeing the etheric channels in their subtle bodies, currents of divine love descend into their body, where they feed all their cells. They then experience such fulfilment that no physical desire can torment them ever again, for heaven has truly taken possession of their soul, their heart and all the organs of their physical body.
