Disciples - must be able to adapt while remaining unshakeable in their convictions

There are several ways of adapting, some of which are not so wonderful. For disciples, adapting means opening up, being intuitive and tactful, sensing which words to say and when to say them, knowing when to act and, finally, finding the right attitude. But while keeping an open mind, they must give nothing away of their ideal and never compromise their spiritual principles of honesty, uprightness and integrity. Adapting in this sense depends on the disciple's strength of character, on the subtlety of their intelligence. Showing flexibility and understanding while remaining firm and unshakeable in one's convictions is a difficult balance to find. But it is necessary to work on it. Even if they are cut into pieces, a true servant of God will remain unshakeable in their love and their faith.
