Alchemy - true alchemy is spiritual alchemy

The Sun and the Moon with which alchemists work symbolize the masculine and feminine principles. This is why disciples of Initiatic Science know that true alchemy is spiritual alchemy, and that the two principles with which they must work are their will (the Sun) and their imagination (the Moon). By using their will and their imagination, disciples transmute their own matter and become, symbolically speaking, like the Sun and the Moon, that is to say, radiant and pure.* It is not by chance that astrology says that Aries is ruled by Mars and Taurus by Venus, for it is by working with the Sun and the Moon in order to sublimate their sexual energy (Venus) and the dynamic, active forces of their will (Mars) that alchemists obtain the spiritual powers symbolized by Mercury, the magic agent.
