Rock - a state of consciousness marked by stability

Jesus said, ‘Build your house on rock’. A rock is of course a symbol, the symbol of a state of consciousness marked by wisdom and stability. On the astral plane, the plane of sensations, feelings and emotions, we are constantly subjected to changing conditions. The sun shines for a moment and we are happy, and then the clouds arrive and sadness creeps over us. The world of feelings is fickle and variable. You love and then you love no more... Obviously, it is impossible to ignore feelings, but we must not build our shelter, our abode on them. We can wander down to the astral plane to explore and study the turmoil and upheavals of that region, but we must not make our home there. Build your home much higher up on the causal plane, the plane that is ruled by light, peace and stability.
