Nature - is alive and intelligent

The universe is a kind of sanctuary for us which we must approach with a sense of the sacred. For not only is nature alive, it is also intelligent. And if we open ourselves to it, it responds by allowing us to participate in its life. You may think that all natural phenomena happen mechanically and that there is therefore no intelligence involved. Well, you are mistaken. Human beings have observed that the universe obeys laws, and this has made it possible for them to create what they call ‘the natural sciences’, but this is no reason to conclude that natural phenomena are purely ‘mechanical’. In thinking this way, you denigrate both nature and yourself; you make it impossible for life to pour into your heart, into your soul, into your mind, and even into your physical body. You will become truly alive only when you decide to enter into relationship with this great and endless life present everywhere in the universe.
